Our Process

Phase 1:
In-Home Consultation

Client Meeting: Doug, the owner of Lucy Construction, visits your residence to discuss your vision, needs, budget, and timeline for the remodel.
 

Design Review: During our on-site visit, we often review a single-page plan view or preliminary design provided by the homeowner. This serves as a fact-finding exercise for both of us.
 

Site Assessment: Also during our on-site visit, Doug performs a thorough inspection of the space to evaluate existing conditions, potential limitations, and feasibility of the project.
 

Project Scope Development: Following the consultation, site assessment, and design review, we provide a preliminary estimate within 10-14 days, often sooner if possible.

Phase 2:

Design & Pre-Construction

Design Development: During this phase, you may introduce us to your chosen architect, or we can recommend one for you. Together, we’ll collaborate closely with you and your architect to develop and refine your plans. This process may involve multiple meetings as we work together to ensure every detail aligns with your vision.

​

Permitting & Material Selection: Lucy Construction facilitates obtaining all necessary permits from local authorities and assists you in selecting final materials, fixtures, and finishes within your established budget. We introduce you to vendors who have a proven track record with Lucy Construction for delivering quality materials.

Phase 3:
Construction

Kick-Off Meeting: A kick-off meeting is held with you to discuss the construction schedule, safety protocols, and communication channels. At this time, you will have reviewed the scope of labor and we will sign a fixed-bid contract.

​

Construction Phase: Lucy Construction's experienced crew begins work on your project, adhering to the plans and maintaining open communication with you throughout the process.

​

Regular Inspections & Progress Updates: Doug is on-site daily, answering questions, resolving issues, and ensuring every process meets his expectations. Doug keeps in constant contact with his customers, asking for input, providing regular updates, and discussing progress.

Phase 4:

Completion & Handover

 

Final Inspection & Walk-Through: Upon completion, a final inspection is conducted with you to ensure everything meets your satisfaction.

​

Project Handover: Once all approvals are obtained, the completed project is handed over to you, along with warranties and maintenance information.
 

​

Post-Construction Support

Lucy Construction provides post-construction support to handle any minor adjustments or questions you may have. We offer a one-year warranty on all workmanship, but we always stand behind our work. If anything needs fixing, we'll make it right.
